How can we help you?

Answers to 42 common questions about RO parts, filter changes, TDS, delivery, returns and warranty.

🔍Choosing the right part

Which part fits my RO purifier?

Most domestic RO purifiers in India use standard 10-inch cartridges, so common sediment, carbon and inline filters fit almost every brand. Membranes, housings, pumps and SMPS vary by model.

Not sure? WhatsApp us at +91 96252 23245 with your RO model name or a photo of the old part. We will confirm the right part before you pay.

Are your parts original and new?

Yes. Every part we sell is new and comes sealed. We source directly from manufacturers and trusted suppliers — there is no distributor or dealer chain in between, which is why our prices are lower.

We never sell used or refurbished parts as new. If you want to know the make of any part before ordering, just ask us on WhatsApp.

Will a non-branded part damage my Kent, Aquaguard or other RO?

No. Filter housings and fittings are standardised across most domestic ROs. What really matters is the specification — micron rating for filters, GPD for membranes, voltage for pumps and SMPS, and the fitting size — not the sticker on the box.

We match the spec to your model so the part fits and works correctly.

Which membrane GPD do I need?

75–80 GPD covers most homes. Choose 100 GPD for a large family or if your input water TDS is above 1500. Commercial units need higher capacity — ask us for a recommendation.

A higher-GPD membrane may also need a matching pump and flow restrictor. Send us your model and we’ll tell you exactly what to pair.

Do you have parts for my brand?

We stock parts compatible with almost all major brands — Kent, Aquaguard, Livpure, Pureit, Blue Star, AO Smith and others — plus universal fittings. If you can’t find your part on the site, WhatsApp us; we may still have it.

What does each RO part do?
  • Sediment filter — first stage; stops dirt, sand and rust.
  • Carbon filter (pre / post) — removes chlorine, bad taste and odour.
  • RO membrane — the heart of the RO; removes dissolved salts and lowers TDS.
  • Booster pump — raises water pressure so the membrane can work.
  • SMPS / adaptor — power supply for the pump (usually 24V or 36V).
  • Solenoid valve (SV) — stops inlet water when the RO is off or the tank is full.
  • Flow restrictor (FR) — controls how much reject water goes to the drain.
  • UV / UF — kill or filter out bacteria and viruses.
  • TDS controller / mineral cartridge — adjusts taste and adds back minerals.

🔧Filter change & maintenance

How often should I change filters?
PartTypical change interval
Sediment filter4–6 months
Pre-carbon filter4–6 months
Inline / post-carbon8–12 months
RO membrane18–24 months

Change earlier if your input TDS is high, your water is muddy, or usage is heavy.

How do I know a filter or membrane needs changing?
  • Water flow has become slow
  • Taste or smell of the water has changed
  • TDS of purified water is rising
  • The sediment filter has turned brown or dark
  • The pump keeps running and the tank doesn’t fill
Should I change all filters together?

Sediment and pre-carbon filters are usually changed together. The inline carbon lasts longer, and the membrane only needs replacing when output TDS starts rising or flow drops even after new pre-filters. Changing everything at once is often unnecessary — ask us before you buy.

Why is my RO water flow slow?

Common causes, in order of likelihood:

  • Choked sediment or carbon filter
  • Low input water pressure
  • Clogged or old RO membrane
  • Weak booster pump or faulty SMPS

Send us a short video on WhatsApp — our technician can usually spot the cause in minutes.

Why does my RO waste so much water?

Some reject water is normal — it carries away the salts the membrane removes. Most home ROs send out roughly 2–3 litres of reject water for every litre of purified water. If it’s much more, the flow restrictor may be wrong or damaged.

Tip: collect reject water for mopping, flushing or washing — just don’t drink it.

My RO water smells or tastes bad. What should I do?

Usually the carbon filter (pre or post) is exhausted, or the storage tank needs cleaning. Replace the carbon filter and flush the tank. If it continues, WhatsApp us your TDS reading.

💧TDS, pH & water quality

What is TDS and what level is ideal?

TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) is the amount of salts and minerals dissolved in water, measured in mg/L (ppm). As per BIS IS 10500, the acceptable limit for drinking water is 500 mg/L.

TDSWhat it means
0–50Too low — flat taste, few minerals
50–150Great for RO output
150–300Good drinking water
300–500Acceptable, near the limit
500+Above limit — RO needed or membrane check

These are general guidelines. See our water guide for more.

My RO water TDS is below 50. Is that a problem?

Very low TDS water is safe to drink but tastes flat because most minerals are removed. A TDS controller or a mineral cartridge can bring it into a better range. WhatsApp us your input and output readings and we’ll suggest the right fix.

How can I check if my RO membrane is working?

Measure the TDS of your tap (input) water and your RO (output) water. A healthy membrane removes most dissolved salts — if output TDS is more than roughly 10% of input TDS, the membrane may be weak and should be checked.

Example: input 800 → output should be around 80 or lower.

What pH should drinking water have?

BIS IS 10500 recommends a pH of 6.5 to 8.5. RO water can be slightly acidic because minerals are removed; an alkaline or mineral cartridge helps balance it.

Do I really need an RO?

It depends on your source water. If your input TDS is high (generally above 500), or you use borewell or tanker water, an RO is recommended. For low-TDS municipal water, a UV or UF purifier may be enough. Tell us your TDS reading and water source — we’ll give you an honest answer, even if it means you don’t need to buy anything.

🛠️Installation & support

Can I change the filters myself?

Yes. Most filters simply twist out of their housing and push-fit connectors release with a press. Follow our step-by-step filter change guide, and if you get stuck, our technician is available on WhatsApp for free.

Is technical support really free?

Yes. Before or after you buy, you can message us on WhatsApp with photos or a short video. A technician will guide you on which part to buy and how to fit it — at no charge.

Support hours: Monday–Saturday, 10 AM – 7 PM. Sunday messages are answered first thing on the next working day.

What is the free RO course?

Every customer gets free access to our step-by-step RO course, so you can understand your purifier and service it yourself instead of paying for every visit. Message us on WhatsApp after your order to get access.

Do you send a technician to my home?

Our support is online, over WhatsApp — that is how we keep it free and fast. If you prefer, any local technician can fit our parts; they use standard fittings.

What if I damage something while fitting?

Stop and message us before forcing anything. Most problems are a housing that is only hand-tight or an O-ring that has shifted — both easy to fix with guidance.
